Learn how to use an OData connection to access cloud data and use it on your labels in LABELVIEW or CODESOFT.
In this video, I will show you to connect LABELVIEW or CODESOFT to cloud-based data sources using an OData connection.
You start with a template open. Right-click on Database. From there, click Create/Edit Query. An option in dropdown will be OData Feed. Select that option.
Name your connection and paste in your URL from your OData feed. If your connection is leveraging a different type of authentication than anonymous, select the appropriate option and apply your login and password or your access token. Today's connection is using anonymous authentication.
You can test your connection to make sure that it can successfully drive data from that URL.
After you click OK, it selects the data source you just created and allows you to pick the table you'd like to drive data from. From there, you can pick the relevant fields you would like to drive the information from. Click OK, and those options become available as a data source for you to click and drag onto your label.
You can click and drag the fields onto the label, have them automatically connect to one another, scroll through to see the different records in the database, or view query results to peruse the whole database and make a selection at the time of print.
Connecting to OData data sources in LABELVIEW or CODESOFT is simple and gives you access to cloud-based data for your labels. Thanks for watching this video.
