This short video walks you through how to add text, barcodes and images with easy-to-use wizards in LABELVIEW.
Creating a new label template with LABELVIEW is easy thanks to an easy-to-use interface and handy wizards.
To get started, we’ll use the new label document wizard that displays automatically when LABELVIEW is launched. We’ll choose to create a new label format, define what printer we want to use, then define which label stock we’d like to use. For this case, I’ll use a predefined stock I created earlier for a customized 4x6 in label. Then I’ll hit finish. And, the label is created and ready for design.
Now, say for instance I need to create a product label for a children’s toy bus. Well, first I’ll need to add some text, so I’ll click the big letter A for text generation, then choose on the label where I’d like to place the text. Now, I’ll enter in the text I want, and hit finish. Then I can click and drag and place the text wherever I’d like it to be located.
Next, I’ll need to add a barcode, so I’ll choose the add barcode button, and again, click on the label where I’d like to place the barcode. Here, I just choose which kind of barcode I want, enter in the data I want in the barcode, and hit finish to place it. Again, click and drag to either relocate or resize the barcode as needed.
Finally, I want to add an image to my label, and to do this, I’ll click the add image button. And then again, click on the label where I’d like to place the image. In this window, we see a gallery of images to choose from. This gallery is being pulled directly from the default directory for image files in LABELVIEW. Now, if we wanted to, we could choose any directory to view by simply clicking the browse button, but I need this toy bus image, so all I need to do is click on it, see a preview, and click finish to place the bus. From there, I can click to drag and resize and position the bus however needed.
Finally, I’d like to have a border around my label to create some definition. So, I’m going to choose the rectangle option and click and drag to place a rectangle border around the outside of my label.
And just like that, I have a product label for my children’s toy bus.
