MicroVention implemented TEKLYNX CENTRAL CFR, a centralized label management system. Their goal was to eliminate the bottlenecks that resulted from a manual and scattered labeling process.

Bob Lenski: The idea behind centralized label management is having one location that you can do everything you need to. So if you want to go in and update a label or if you want to approve a label or if you want to just print a label, it's having one application installed on a server somewhere in the environment and then making that the central point of use.

Frank Carranza: So now when there's a change that is necessary all you have to do is really just open up the template, save it as a draft, make your changes, and check it back in as a final, and those changes are done. We've reduced the amount of time and resources it takes to deal with all the templates and database changes significantly.

Bob: The other benefit truly is the user accounts in the system. So not only do you have a system that's installed and working for everybody, but an administrator in the backend can add any user that's required, make sure that their permissions are specific to them. So if they're a standard print user they'll get print user rights, if they're a design user they'll have design user rights. And that limits what they're able to do in the application. So if you think about it in a regulatory space, it's important to make sure that not only can everybody do everything they need, but that everybody is only doing what they're supposed to be doing.

Frank: When we implemented this process, the learning curve for it was very minimal. We went into the cleanroom, I trained them how to do the new workflow with the new centralized labeling system, and that kind of reduced the amount of time that they needed to print all the different labels out to put on the products. If you're looking to have a minimal learning curve and reduce the amount of time spent on updating and changing labels and reducing the amount of time that it takes for your cleanroom operators to print out a label, I think this is the best solution.
