Video: How to Choose the Right Licensing Option

The first thing you’ll want to consider is what environment your product will be installed in. Will you install your software on a Virtual Machine? If you answered yes, you must purchase a subscription license. If you answered no, you may choose either subscription or perpetual licensing. TEKLYNX is the only labeling software provider to offer both perpetual and subscription-based licensing.

 

A subscription license is paid on a 1-, 3-, or 5-year basis and includes: version upgrades, technical support, and unlimited training webinars. A perpetual license is a one-time outright purchase. A Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) can be purchased to cover version upgrades, technical support, and two training webinars per year.

 

The next thing to consider is: does the PC on which your software is installed have internet access? If so, an online license should be purchased. If your computer does not have a reliable internet connection, we recommend an offline license.

 

TEKLYNX offers single user and network licensing. Network user licenses are available in 3, 5, and 10 user options. An additional 5 users can be added at any time to scale up with your labeling environment.

 

Now that it’s time to deliver, select either a digital key or a USB key. A digital key, which can be paired with either a perpetual or subscription license is a good fit if your license will only be used on one computer for an extended amount of time. A USB Key is a good fit for computers that do not have internet access or if the license will be moved to different computers frequently.
