Online & Offline Options

TEKLYNX Subscription Licenses are available as an online or offline option. There is no hardware key involved, so your choice depends on your internet access.

TEKLYNX perpetual licenses are available as an offline option via a USB key, or a keyless option that requires internet access.

What is the difference between subscription and perpetual?

A subscription license includes free technical support, training webinars, and version upgrades, whereas a perpetual license does not. You can add a Software Maintenance Agreement (SMA) on to a perpetual license at an additional cost to enjoy the benefits included with a subscription license. A subscription license has a lower cost of entry, but must be paid and renewed each year, wheres a perpetual license is a one-time cost.

DOES A PERPETUAL LICENSE INCLUDE SUPPORT?

Each new perpetual license purchase comes with a free 90-day SMA, which includes benefits such as access to free priority technical support and one free basic and one free advanced product training session per year. Before the 90 days conclude, register and purchase the SMA to ensure your software is protected and enjoy additional benefits such as free version upgrades.

CAN I PURCHASE A PERPETUAL VM LICENSE?

Yes. All licenses on version 2021 or newer are VM-compatible. Regional differences may apply.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SINGLE USER & NETWORK LICENSE?

A single user license is intended to be installed on one computer and best if you just need one person to use the labeling software at a time.

If you have more than one person who will need to use the labeling software at a time, you can leverage a network (multi-user) license that behaves as a "floating license" hosted in a central location, like a server. For example, if you have a network 5-user license, you can install the software on an unlimited number of computers on the same network, but only five of those computers can run the software at the same time. In addition, remote access connections require the use of a network license.

WILL THE LICENSE TYPE I CHOOSE AFFECT MY PRINTER OPTIONS?

No. TEKLYNX has developed over 3,000 native label printer drivers to provide the best overall quality for your barcode labeling needs. Access the TEKLYNX Driver Service Pack (DSP) to download printer drivers for your subscription or perpetual license.

IS THE SOFTWARE LICENSED BY NUMBER OF USERS OR PRINTERS?

TEKLYNX label design software is licensed by number of users. Unlike our competitors, TEKLYNX does not charge more for every printer you add. There are single-user licenses available, as well as 3- or 5-user network licenses that can be stacked if needed.

Do I need to have access to the internet to use the software?

No. TEKLYNX Subscription Licenses are available as online or offline, and there is no USB hardware key needed. Perpetual licenses require a hardware key for offline use, but are also available in online keyless options.
