The Beer Institute in the US has created the Brewers’ Voluntary Disclosure Initiative to encourage its member beer companies to voluntarily include a serving facts statement on their products, packaging, or websites. Also included will be a list of ingredients, a freshness date, and a reference to a website with the information or a QR code on the label or secondary packaging.
Beer Institute member companies Anheuser-Busch, MillerCoors, Heineken USA, and North American Breweries, as well as the Craft Brew Alliance have agreed to follow these standards.
In accordance with the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Trade Bureau (TTB) ruling, the serving facts statement will include:
