Can I use LABELVIEW to monitor my Database Files? |
 |
| |
This feature is DataWatch. DataWatch comes standard with LABELVIEW Gold. With it, LABELVIEW can "watch" a specified database or directory for changes or updates. This table may be on a LAN (Local Area Network) or WAN (Wide Area Network).
When another application modifies this table, by adding new records, LABELVIEW "watches" for this change and automatically prints either the new records or the entire table. This is an ideal way of automating label printing, thus reducing user involvement. Use this feature by designing a label with at least 1 field linked to a database or ODBC data source.
By starting DataWatch, the database is "checked" at specified intervals that you set in the DataWatch Setup menu. You can also decide to print all the records in the table, or just the new records. Note: To run LABELVIEW in DataWatch mode from a command line, type the following: C:\LVWIN6.0\LBLVIEW.EXE /DWATCH C:\TEST\TEST.DBF Where C:\TEST\TEST.DBF is the path to and the name of the database file you wish to monitor.
