How do I add a new printer family to CODESOFT? |
 |
| |
TEKLYNX sometimes adds an entirely new printer family to the Driver Service Pack. To make the printer family available in CODESOFT, you must modify a file in the CODESOFT directory on your PC. Instructions for making this modification are below:
- If you have CODESOFT running, save your work and exit.
- If you are using CODESOFT Enterprise, use Windows Explorer to browse the C:\Program Files\CODESOFT 7\Enterprise\ directory on your PC.
- If you are using CODESOFT Premier, use Windows Explorer to browse the C:\Program Files\CODESOFT 7\Premier\ directory on your PC.
- If you are using CODESOFT Sprint, use Windows Explorer to browse the C:\Program Files\CODESOFT 7\Sprint\ directory on your PC.
- Once you are in the appropriate directory for your product, locate the Printers.inf file and open it with Notepad.
- Scroll to the bottom of the .inf file and create a new entry that includes the next sequential number, the equal sign, and the new printer family name in all caps. In this example, the .inf file already had 66 printer families listed, so the line we added was "67=INDUSTRIAL LABELING SYSTEMS".
- When you have added the new family to the Printers.inf file, save the updated file in the same directory you opened the file from and close it. You can now launch CODESOFT and access the new printer family.
